Newborn

Getting newborn portraits is so much more than just documenting what your baby looks like when they’re born. Images have the incredible power to provoke feelings and conjure up the sweetest memories. In the near future, you will look through them and feel joy, love, and nostalgia and forget, for just a moment, about the sleepless nights and the epic up-their-back diaper blowouts.

Even in the distant future, when your baby is heading off to college, you’ll be able to look back and be reminded of the softness of their skin and hair, the smell of the top of their head after a bath, and the sound of the little noises they made in their sleep.

Maternity

I offer and encourage clients to book maternity sessions. I want to capture the love/connection/excitement that you already feel for this new baby! Not only that, but I want to do that while posing you in a way that is flattering to your body type and makes you look and feel beautiful. Because even though your pregnancy has its ups and downs, the moments of raw, unfiltered joy you feel about the arrival of your baby...those moments deserve to be remembered.

Family

Family portraits aren’t just for capturing physical changes in your children and new additions to your family. They are to capture personalities, connections, activities that you love and how all of those things evolve over time. They are to provide you and your children with daily visual reminders of the overflowing love within your home.

So let’s capture your family’s story as it unfolds, so that many decades in the future, you have albums filled with all of your best memories to look back on.

FAQ

How many pictures will we receive?

All packages include at least 15-20 edited digital images....unless there were unforeseen circumstances or quality did not meet standards.

What’s the best age to have a session with a newborn?

The best age to photograph newborns is generally 1-2 weeks old...when they are still nice and sleepy. ***For in-studio sessions remember to hold off on feeding your little one until you arrive.

When should I book my newborn session?

I recommend booking in your 2nd or 3rd trimester. If you wait until after your baby is born, I can usually still find a day to get you on the schedule. However, we’re definitely on a time crunch at that point to try to fit you in during that “ideal” window of time!

When should I book my maternity session?

The earlier in your pregnancy you contact me to book, the better. It gives me plenty of time to plan the perfect portrait session for you, and it gives you the peace of mind knowing that I won't be completely booked.

What's the best week in pregnancy to have a maternity session?

Maternity sessions are typically scheduled between 28-34 weeks pregnant. Sooner than 28 weeks, many moms are in that weird Is-she-pregnant-or-did-she-just-eat-a-huge-lunch limbo (you know what I’m talking about, mamas).

We want these to clearly be pregnancy portraits. On the other hand, we don’t want mom so pregnant that she’s extremely uncomfortable during a 1-hour portrait session, or at risk of missing her portrait session because she goes into labor!

What time of day is best for outdoor photos?

Sessions should be scheduled approximately 1-2 hours before sunset to get the best light. The timing isn’t always the easiest for little ones, but the results are so worth it!

What months are best for outdoor photos?

In order to avoid cold temperatures and unhappy kiddos, I recommend booking for sometime between May — early November.
